The 2026 Millicent Show

Celebrating Excellence, Innovation and Community Spirit

The Millicent Show is a proud celebration of excellence, innovation, and community spirit – a welcoming space where tradition and progress meet.

A three-day event centred on excellence in agriculture and horticulture, it brings together farmers, families, and the Millicent community to share knowledge, showcase skills and celebrate rural life. Coupled with entertainment, side-shows and delicious food, the Millicent Show is a lively atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

The Millicent Show – Since 1876

149 Years of the Show!

Since its inception in 1876, the Millicent Show has been a cornerstone for locals and visitors to share knowledge, showcase skills and celebrate rural life.

The Millicent Show holds the distinction of being South Australia’s first three-day Show outside of Adelaide!

What began with farmers travelling for hours by horse and cart – and later by train – has grown into a vibrant event that now attracts exhibitors, competitors, and visitors from all over Australia. Today, some even arrive by air, landing at the airstrip that is adjacent to the Millicent Showgrounds – a unique feature that reflects the Millicent Show’s enduring ability to evolve while staying true to its roots.

While many of the traditional exhibition categories remain – spanning three centuries of continuous competition – some have adapted to reflect modern-day farming methods. New categories have also been introduced to celebrate technological advances and the changing interests of our community.

Beyond the competitions, the Millicent Show is alive with entertainment, side-shows, and local food, ensuring there is something for everyone. The much-loved Friday evening fireworks display continues to be a highlight, regularly winning awards and drawing crowds from near and far.

What Do Attendees Say?

Michelle – Competitor

We travelled from Victoria to attend this show as the schedule looked great. Six hours of travel one way was worth it.

Everyone was friendly, and it had a lovely atmosphere that ran well from start to finish.

There is a great range of classes very rarely seen in most shows in harness. Hope every year runs like this and hoping to return.

Keep it up team great job to you all.

Patrick – Vendor

I’ve been attending the Millicent Show in my Mug On The Run mobile coffee service for almost a decade now. There are many shows in SA, but it’s one of only three shows I deem important for me to attend.

It’s a show supported by volunteers who make sure traders are well taken care of during the event. Any issues or concerns are quickly addressed and resolved for all concerned.

And it’s a community event, where over time, the organisers and other traders become friends.

Plus, the Millicent Show has the best fireworks in the South East!

Madi – Attendee

The Millicent Show Society always does a fantastic job with the annual show. I’ve been going for as long as I can remember – first with my family, then later in high school with friends, and now as an adult. Over the years the show has only gotten better, and it’s clear how much effort goes into creating such a big, vibrant rural event each year.

Some of my favourite memories are walking around the halls, checking out the animals, and of course grabbing a show bag or two.

There’s something for everyone – from the rides and competitions to the food stalls and fireworks. It really brings the whole community together, and no matter your age it’s a highlight of the year.
